New rolls at Forty Five Degrees
Now, I know many people have a love/hate relationship with Forty Five. The staff is awesome but the rolls are loose…or the staff was horrible and the food was great, I’ve heard it all. Personally, I’ve had the same relationship with Forty Five but I love it nonetheless.
The restaurant recently added a four new rolls to their sushi menu though which in my opinion was certainly a step in the right direction. Rave reviews about the Orange Crush roll have fluttered around, but I’ve yet to try it myself. The description is: 8pc Crab, jalepeno and asparagus. Topped with salmon, orange slices and spicy mayo, then baked and covered with tempura crunch and plum wine sauce. However, at $14, it’s an investment.
A fan of white tuna, I tried the Island roll and would definitely order it again. Its made with tuna, asparagus, tempura and jalepeno. Topped with white tuna, avocado, tobiko and eel sauce. That baby will set you back $13.
For those of you who are carb conscious, there is also an “AntiRice” roll.
All in all I can’t complain. I’ve always said if I were in walking distance of Sushi I would be happy. Now if Mass Ave would just get a Target…

I like the ambiance at 45 and the bar tender, Memphis, is a cool dude.

Aw, I wanna join in! I love Memphis, too! I’ve never had the sushi at 45 Degrees, but you can’t beat half-price martinis on Thursdays…

Danggit! I’m DEATHLY allergic to sushi, but I’m addicted to lovin’ some half-priced martini’s. I’m there! Yes!!! Amy, we rollin’? =)
Ugh. Half-price martinis. Good idea last night = bad idea this morning.
El Borbah likes his Sushi and Martinis for the perfect nightcap. Followed by smacking around cretins.
