BROWNSBURG — A new church is about to take shape inside Brownsburg East Middle School.

The first public service for New Day Church, which formed in the home of Denis and Gwen Roy about two years ago, will be 5 p.m. Sunday in the Large Group Instruction room at Brownsburg East Middle School, 1250 E. Airport Road.

Denis Roy, the church’s senior pastor, said the service is open to anyone seeking an encounter with God. He said the experience at the non-denominational church will be authentic, casual and contemporary, catering to those who may not feel comfortable or who may be intimidated by a traditional church setting.

Roy, who currently serves as a chaplain at the Brownsburg Police Department and substitute teaches at Brownsburg schools, most recently served as a senior pastor from 1999-2006 at Christian Assembly Church near Washington, D.C.
