New Castle honors Rory, Frisbee partner
New Castle — In front of 500 supporters Thursday, the most famous dog in New Castle got to strut his stuff.
Tony Hoard, owner and television partner of Rory, doesn’t mind all of the attention going his companion’s way.
“Most of the time, people never remember my name, but they always remember Rory’s,” he said. “He’s the most important part of the act, so I’ll play second fiddle to him any day.”
Hoard and Rockin’ Rory wowed audiences this summer on the NBC hit “America’s Got Talent.”
Their Frisbee-catching act, with Australian shepherd Rory contorting his body in every way imaginable to catch Hoard’s throws, excited audiences and American voters.
They didn’t win, but they were winners in the eyes of many in Henry County.
“This celebration is just to let them know that we’re very proud of them,” said Susie Thompson, from the Henry County Convention and Visitors Bureau, which sponsored Thursday’s event.
