When Erin Welch and Claire Bolles opened their Broad Ripple boutique, they did so with the same panache as Audrey Hepburn’s iconic character Holly Golightly.

The Indianapolis women, who met about 20 years ago because their fathers (Michael McCormick and Charles Mong) are close friends, are owners of 8 Fifteen, a new upscale women’s wear shop at 6544 Ferguson St.

To celebrate in their new retail space, they invited friends and family members to a pre-opening party on April 10. Wine and appetizers were served, and anyone who bought something received a 20 percent discount. As guests mingled, Hepburn’s 1961 film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” played on flat-screen televisions.

“We wanted everybody to come and see what we’ve been working on for the past two years,” said Welch, 40.

8 Fifteen got its named from the nearby spot — at 815 E. 65th St. — where the women plan to build a two-story permanent location.

The contemporary shop offers mainly upscale casual clothing and accessories, as well as home decor items. Prices range from about $50 to more than $1,000.
