Myrow, Salazar post 4-hit games
Brian Myrow and Jeff Salazar each collected four hits Wednesday afternoon to lead the Indianapolis Indians to a 4-1 win over the Columbus Clippers at Victory Field.
Myrow was 4-for-4 with three RBIs, including two solo homers.
He has five consecutive hits over his past two games, including a two-run single in the ninth inning Tuesday that lifted the Tribe to an 8-7 win over the Clippers.
Salazar was 4-for-5, including three infield singles.
Myrow’s first homer staked the Tribe to a 1-0 lead in the first inning and his second made it 4-1 in the seventh. He also had an RBI single in a two-run third.
Columbus got on the board in the sixth on a two-out RBI double by Wes Hodges.
Tribe starter Ty Taubenheim (6-9) allowed one run and five hits in 51/3 innings.
Jeff Sues, Corey Hamman and Jean Machi combined to blank the Clippers on three hits over the final 32/3 innings.
