My reason for having an Indy.com space

Though of course I'm not new to using the Internet, I am new to forums like Indy.com. I don't have a Face Book page and the My Space page I have was set up for me… but I've never gotten acclimated to it. Essentially, my interest in those places is not strong. My reason for acquiring a place on Indy.com include, but are not limited to, greater exposure for my artwork (much of it for sale by the way) and greater connectedness with other people in the local art community including individuals who appreciate the visual arts but don't necessarily create their own. The many other interests listed on my page are also topics I'd appreciate hearing from others on as well. That's pretty much the long and short of it... except for perhaps an occasional review of places and things (like the money I recently wasted on the movie Lions For Lambs). So there it is. Let the dialogue begin… or not.

It's all my husband's fault... yep, that's my story & I'm sticking to it!! LOL He was doing a search for me after I'd gone to bed & stumbled upon this site. Little did he know it would be one more way for me to say why I didn't wash the whites today!! Between here & MySpace I'm not too active on either due to several others which I am. This site is great though & I love the idea of networking (though I'm tired of that descriptor) with other folks of similar interest. All these years and I thought I was weird.... I'm not, I just have an "art spirit" (like the way I worked that one in?? LOL) Oh WHO and I fooling???? I'm weird :-) and I like it like that. Of course, the older I get the less weird my weird is so there you have it.

Isn't it great when your weird becomes "interesting & unique" instead?

For the record, Essex's work is VERY good stuff. Great guy to meet, too. He's a little humble so I'll do a shameless plug for him. Check out his gallery: http://www.indy.com/people/Essex

Slide 26 of 28 is a piece that I get to enjoy every day as it hangs in our office.
