About LaundroMatinee.com:

The idea for LaundroMatinee.com came about some time after My Old Kentucky Blog started inviting bands in to record small radio sessions at Pendleton Heights High School in the small, quiet town of Pendleton, Indiana.

Some time in late 2006, My Old Kentucky Blog.com founder, Craig "Dodge" Lile, befriended then high school radio station general manager and teacher Jeff DuPont. The two shared an equally passionate love of independent music as well as an overwhelming compulsion to share it with others. Jeff suggested that Dodge use his connection to SIRIUS Satellite Radio to influence a band to come to the station some time. The two hoped to record a couple songs to play on the radio station and get the kids taking Jeff's radio class excited about travelling independent bands. Catfish Haven was the first band to come through, some time in late Decemeber 2006. The fire was lit.

Jeff and Dodge continued to invite bands in on a regular basis. The two recorded close to 80 audio sessions together at the school. No one is exactly sure where the obvious idea to start videotaping the sessions came from or why it took so long to see it, but we know it happened sometime in early 2008. Jeff and Dodge began their search for a video guru.

Tim Wilsbach responded to an online ad for a videographer with a passion for music and a willingness to work for peanuts. Tim, a talented local musician in his own right, had the means and knowledge to make Jeff and Dodge's hopes a reality.

In early April of 2008, the three recorded and videotaped their first session together. The three invited The Felice Brothers and Bon Iver in. The Felice Brothers flaked so Bon Iver, much to our absolute joy, became the first artist to receive the audio and video treatment.

From those humble beginnings and hair-brained ideas, we've now partnered with some of the most passionate and generous musical minds in Indianapolis to bring these sessions to life. We thank our friends at The Pop Machine, one of the best recording studios Indianapolis has to offer, and we thank our friend John Zeps, owner of VIBES Music stores for giving us locations to film and record. Perry Stevens, owner of Snapjoint recording studio, and videographer Doug Fellegy have also contributed countless hours making these sessions as great as we always hoped they'd look and sound. Finally, we thank our friends at Musical Family Tree and Small Box Consulting for helping us bring LaundroMatinee.com to the web. Without all of you guys we couldn't make it happen, and it is your love of music and Indianapolis that puts the heart and soul behind this project. Thank you again.

That's really fantastic work, Dodge.

Any thought of turning the video into a video podcast or some such?
