Music Sales Nonsense
Lately, I have heard a lot of people talking about digital album sales and CD sales again. This isn’t new and this is not an issue caused entirely by consumers. Artists can specify where and how their music is sold. If they want to sell more CDs, then they should limit their digital availability. Yes, there are some not so great effects of going against the current digital trends. However, I am sick of hearing artists complain about the change in sales when they don’t even try to do anything to prevent their loss. Most consumers are going to try to get things at the lowest possible cost, especially in this economy. If the album is a real success, then it will sell no matter what form is made available.
Couldn’t agree more. I’m tired of hearing that Record Labels are lamenting that they don’t have control over the profits as they once did. It’s not 1950, and they need to get over it.
