The Toledo Mud Hens used two unearned runs to defeat the Indianapolis Indians 2-1 Wednesday night at Victory Field.

The Mud Hens took advantage of Indians errors to score runs in the fifth and eighth innings for starter Ryan Ketchner (1-0), who pitched seven innings in his International League debut.

The Tribe scored the game’s first run in the second inning on a double by Tagg Bozied and singles by Hector Gimenez and Argenis Diaz.

Toledo tied it in the fifth. Keith Hernandez reached on an error by third baseman Chris Barnwell and eventually scored on a two-out single by Scott Sizemore.

The Mud Hens took the lead in the eighth. With one out, Brent Clevlen singled, Jeff Frazier — given second life when second baseman Pedro Lopez dropped his foul pop — singled, and Clevlen scored when the Tribe couldn’t complete a double play on Maxwell Leon’s ground ball.

Starter Eric Hacker went seven innings. Juan Mateo (6-7), who finished, took the loss.
