Number of years teaching: 30.

Why did you become a teacher: My Latin professor, Suretha Bruwer, instilled in me a love for Latin and motivated me to become a Latin teacher. I also enjoy working with young, inquiring minds and find that I learn from them every day.

What goals do you have for your students: To enjoy learning, become an active participant in the learning process and find the relevance of Latin in the 21st century.

What do you encourage parents to do at home to help their children strengthen particular skills: To actively become involved in the learning process; to show some interest in the work of their children.

Name your favorite movie: “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?”

Name your favorite musician or band: Crosby, Stills and Nash and Green Day.

What’s something your students might not know about you: I went to Bonnaroo Music Festival this past summer and had an absolute blast.
