KOKOMO — Mayor Greg Goodnight will travel to Italy next month for meetings with executives of Fiat Group, which now controls Chrysler and its four factories in Kokomo. Spokesman David Galvin said Goodnight also hopes to meet with other officials of businesses during the July 12-18 trip. Chrysler had more than 4,600 workers in Kokomo before its bankruptcy filing, with many expected back next week as its plants reopen. Galvin said the mayor wants to establish a relationship with Fiat’s leaders in the hope of keeping current jobs and adding more.(AP)
