Man wins $50,000 on TV game show
Camby postal carrier Tony Westmoreland walked away with $50,000 — and more than 15 minutes of fame — for a two-day appearance on the television game show “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire.”
Westmoreland’s performance placed him eighth on the game show’s leader board for this season and put him in the running to be a finalist in the Million Dollar Tournament of Ten. Those episodes of the program will be broadcast Monday through Nov. 20 on WXIN (Channel 59).
Westmoreland, 41, a Decatur Central High School graduate and a U.S. Postal Service carrier for 20 years, lives in Camby, in southwestern Marion County. He delivers the mail to more than 700 homes in Heartland Crossing.
The married father of four said he’ll use the money to pay bills and start college education funds for his children.
