An 18-year-old man who reportedly heated a bottle for a crying baby during a home invasion and robbery last week was charged Thursday, police said.

Robert Coleman, Indianapolis, was taken into custody Tuesday at Arlington High School, said Sgt. Paul Thompson, spokesman for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Coleman was being held at the Marion County Jail on charges of robbery, burglary, confinement and pointing a firearm.

According to an IMPD report, two men one — with a shotgun and one with a handgun — forced their way into a home in the 6100 block of East 21st Street about 8 a.m. last Friday. They taped shut the mouths and hands of two residents and struck one of them in the head with a pistol, the report said.

Before leaving, however, one robber heated a bottle in the microwave to quiet a crying baby and let the 15-year-old son of one resident feed the child.

Coleman is a junior at Arlington, Thompson said. The other suspect is still being sought.
