Looking for a coolout of the way place
I am looking for something a little off the beaten path for a night out and was hoping everyone could help me find a place. I was looking at the Hollyhock Hill, but I don't know if I will be able to get there before they close on Friday. Any thoughts? I am looking for a quiet place that is reasonably priced and one that isn't attracting the entire city. Let me know.

If you want really out of the way, Bonge's Tavern (http://www.bongestavern.com/Home... is the place to go. It can get really busy though, so you either have to get there early, go during the week, or just settle on a little tailgating in the parking lot while you wait. The menu is literally a chalkboard, and it changes quite often.

I second Bonge's, it's a true destination dining adventure ... just when you think you're in the middle of nowhere, you're there. They're not cheap, but not quite downtown prices either, and the food is phenomenal. Always save room for the sugar cream cake. It's a very casual, non-smoking, fun tavern (ie must be 21 to dine there). And you're encouraged to tailgate ... byob and snacks for the parking lot, it'll save you money on appetizers (although the sauteed mushrooms are too good to pass up).

Bonge's is really good but I remember waiting in the parking lot tailgaiting for 4 hours and we were one of the first groups there. It's also (as stated above) NOT CHEAP - the food is really good but I had a feeling of regret and the rest of the party I was with kinda felt the same. Too much drinking and eating in the parking lot to enjoy the food by the time it's your turn. You might one to try it once and see if it fits desires.
Marco's on 54th street has always been perfect and I continue to go back. Not expensive and the food is amazing. The atmosphere is perfect for those quiet dinner (sit in the bar). Recommend a reservation though.
