"Look Out, Dude!!"
I live near the Emerson music venue and for most of the weekend driving around doing errands and whatnot, it was a game of "Dodge the Dude". Dudes in black shirts walked into traffic expecting all to stop and behold the mighty black-shirt wearing rockers. "Be careful, dude!" I warned. Or, "Dude, be cautious, the traffic around here is heinous!!". I had fun dodging dudes who were lugging guitar cases and drumkits. On Sunday morning, there was a Perfect Circle of cigarette butts on the sidewalk right outside the Emerson's entrance. A team of urban anthropologists was on their knees studying the evidence of a rocking good Dudefest event. "Way to research, dudes!!" I called as I drove past on the way to a drive thru breakfast.

Can someone explain this Dudefest thing to me?
dudefest_ a music festival that takes place every summer in indianapolis, Indiana. started five years ago by Derek Black, it was and still is simply a fest where Derek asks his friends and bands he likes (or thinks you should like too) and asks them to play. the music ranges from heavy to all out ball busting rock music with a good dose of experimental and extreeeeeem thrown in to keep it dangerous.
its really a good time if you like music, hanging out with some dudes (yes- the fest is more than welcoming to women), and sharing in the knowledge that indy is a rad place every once in a while.
