Lollapalooza in Chicago or hangin home for Radiohead?
This summer Radiohead is headlining Lollapalooza in Chicago. The fest is August 1-3. The early bird weekend tickets are going for $190 right now plus a fantastic lineup otherwise including Nine Inch Nails and Rage Against the Machine.
However, If you just want to see the British rockers (with Grizzlybear), it might be worth staying in Indy for an indoor show at Verizon Wireless Center on Sunday, August 3rd. Ticketmaster has stubs from $30-50 +charges. Wilco is doing a show that Monday around $30 as well.
What's your take? An expensive music-filled weekend in the Chicago sun or beginning a great week of music in Indianapolis? Pros/Cons? Hard to say.

this is a no-brainer. you go to Lollapalooza. there will be a few people on here who will whine about seating and how they just want to relax and enjoy Radiohead, blah, blah, blah but unless your reasoning is because of not being able to get off of work or cannot afford Lolla tix/weekend in Chicago then you're making an awful decision. the lineup is spectacular, as usual and Chicago is a great town.
then again, i hear indianapolis is getting a great music festival any day now. kidding.

Can you buy a single-day pass for Lollapalooza?
yeah. you can get 1 day passes. probably 75-80 bucks.
i'm not that juiced by this year's lineup. the headliners i've seen, all in their prime, except radiohead--and i've got lower pavilion tickets to the VWMC show. the newer bands i've either a) not bought into their hype, b) seen them at a smaller venue, or c) recorded them in-studio for myoldkentuckyblog.com/SIRIUS. just not worth the $400+ investment for me.

What is the lineup for Lolla? I haven't heard yet, and please don't post a link, my work bans ANY form of entertainment (Nazi's!!!!!)
