Life defined by integrity, generosity, family, Wabash
On June 21, we lost a remarkable leader, statesman, humanitarian and friend with the death of former Indiana Lt. Gov. Dick Ristine.
He set the standard for honorable, effective and caring public service. He knew how to bring people together, always for the common good. As much as anyone I know his steadfast, passionate focus on the toughest, most important issues, especially related to young people, has had a powerful impact on giving a boost to so many who needed a little help and encouragement.
His entire life was defined by integrity, selflessness, generosity, hard work on challenging issues, love for his family and Wabash College, the beautiful Indiana environment and practicing his faith through extraordinary service and good deeds.
He was the absolute epitome of the Hoosier gentleman. He made life better for every single one of his fellow residents of Indiana.
