Oct. 18 will be a musical day at Lawrence Central High School, but that will be only the start of an event intended to get students ready and enthusiastic about attending the school in the future.

The “Check out LC Open House” comes on Sunday at the school at 7300 East 56th St., from 1-3 p.m. The open house will have representatives on hand from all of the high school’s departments and programs, including academics, performing arts, athletics, and clubs.

Among the events will be afternoon rehearsals by the concert band, wind ensemble and symphonic band. The rehearsals also will serve as final run-throughs for Monday concerts by the bands at the high school.

To get to the open house, visitors should use the Hall of Fame doors on the north side of the school.
