Kid Rock quoting Johnny Cash

Just reading a post about bar fights (hypothetical, of course) and thought of Kid Rock's recent Waffle House brawl. His sounded pretty tame compared to the Johnny Cash song he quoted in describing what happened. "One thing led to another, windows were broken, and, you know, cussin' and fussin', the mud, the blood, and the beer."

Here's the lyric: "Well, I hit him hard right between the eyes And he went down, but to my surprise, He come up with a knife and cut off a piece of my ear. But I busted a chair right across his teeth And we crashed through the wall and into the street Kicking and a' gouging in the mud and the blood and the beer."

Ha...do they even have beer at Waffle House?

Johnny Cash is my 2-year-old son's favorite singer. That's one thing I did right with him!

Actually, the lyrics are by Shel Silverstein; author of great kids' books, poetry, songs, and perennial fixture at the Playboy Mansion. Also wrote the lyrics to Cover Of The Rolling Stone by Doctor Hook and his own radio hits Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout (Would Not Take The Garbage Out) and The Smoke Off. A tremendously cool guy. A thoroughly dead guy.
