Joaquin Phoenix on Letterman
Anyone see this?!

It’s downright awkward….dude is gonna end up like his brother.

You know that line he was walking? He fell off.
Definitely riding the horse. Dude is smacked up bigtime.
Heroin, black tar, skag, smack, chieva, gear, Evil, H, Boy, Big Boy … getting the picture yet, Einstein?

I actually thought Letterman was funny, for once. He handled the insane weirdness/awkwardness/animosity from Joaquin really well.
“Well, Joaquin, I’m sorry you couldn’t be here tonight.” Ha!
Also, the “I don’t have to chew gum” thing was fanTASTic. Who puts gum on a talk show desk?? It’s Joaquin, bitches.

Letterman gets those appearances every now and then:
I think he’s really in trouble, I had heard he was performing his “rap” song at some party and no one could even understand what he was saying and he stumbled off stage. It’s kind of sad really…you think he might of learned from his brother…he’s the one that found him and called 911.
As much as it seems like Joaquin is just really f’d up, this may be an Andy Kaufman-like hoax for his upcoming mockumentary:

He also seems infinitely more sane in this video, where he was on Letterman a couple of years ago:

Finally, the way he acts at the very end of the full interview, which you can view below, makes it seem more like an act:
