IUPUI men’s basketball coachRon Hunterreceived a Guardians of the Game Pillar Award for Service.

The AT&T/NABC Guardians of the Game Awards Show during the Final Four in Detroit recognized the Jaguars coach for his work with Samaritan’s Feet.

Hunter coached barefoot in January 2008 to raise awareness for the need for shoes for impoverished children throughout the world. This past January, he encouraged colleagues to join him, and they collected donations of shoes for Samaritan’s Feet.

On April 29, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra will perform in its bare feet and raise money for the nonprofit organization.
