Jim Irsay did the right thing last week. He was the first NFL owner to come forward and say that he wouldn’t vote in favor of Rush Limbaugh joining the ranks of the NFL owners club. Limbaugh’s history of making racially divisive and culturally insensitive remarks would have been legitimized. He would have used his ownership credentials to continue his campaign of hate speech.

The people who say his rights have been infringed upon are wrong. Limbaugh’s potential partners dumped him after they saw how unpopular this move would be with the players and union. This actually works out well for everyone. Limbaugh gets to play the victim, and the NFL doesn’t have to do damage control every week due to Limbaugh’s bully pulpit. The Colts are a class organization. Jim Irsay is a big reason why.
