Indy man sentenced in Marion Co. robberies

An Indianapolis man convicted of several armed robberies in Marion County also will serve a long federal prison sentence after pleading guilty to a federal firearms charge.

Lamon Owens, 24, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.

Federal law led to a 15-year sentence for Owens because he had previous convictions that led him to be sentenced as an armed career criminal.Indiana Department of Correction records show that Owens has been convicted of armed robbery in Indianapolis in 2004, 2005 and 2008.
