An Indianapolis-based car wash has been named one of the country’s 15 best workplaces.

Mike’s Carwash, which launched in 1948, earned a reputation for “stellar service by rigorously vetting even entry-level job candidates and then reducing turnover through heavy training and incentives” such as tuition reimbursement, according to The Wall Street Journal, which teamed up with Winning Workplaces, an Evanston, Ill., nonprofit that helps small and midsize companies create better work environments.

The survey was published today.

The business was the only Indiana company to make the list.

Mike’s Carwash employs 437 full-time equivalents (261 full-time workers, 352 part-time) and had $55 million in revenue in 2008. It has 37 locations in Indiana and Ohio.
