Indianapolis Indians pitcher Daniel McCutchen will be honored as the team’s Most Valuable Player tonight, the team announced today.

McCutchen has posted a 13-6 record with an ERA of 3.47 and 110 strikeouts in 24 outings this season, according to a news release from team spokesman Andrew Jennings.

McCutchen sits atop the International League with the most victories. He’s started more games than any other Indians pitcher this season and leads the league in innings pitched (142.2) and strikeouts. The right hander received his first-ever Major League call-up on Monday after posting a 3-0 record with a 2.45 ERA in five stellar starts during August, the release said.

Indianapolis Windsor Jewelry provided a custom-made ring that will be presented to the McKinney, Texas, native at tonight’s home season finale against Louisville. The game starts at 6 p.m. at Victory Field. A fireworks show will follow the game.

The team tonight also will honor Neil Walker (leader in home runs and RBIs, and August Player of the Month), Jose Tabata (Rookie of the Year), Erik Kratz (Defensive Player of the Year), Chris Bootcheck (Henry Smock Relief Pitcher of the Year) and Brian Myrow (highest batting average).
