An Indianapolis soldier is among three reported killed fighting in Iraq.

The Department of Defense says 21-year-old Army Pfc. Zachary R. Nordmeyer, Indianapolis, and two others died Monday when their unit was attacked in Balad, Iraq.

Nordmeyer; 21-year-old Cpl. Michael L. Mayne, Burlington Flats, N.Y.; and 31-year-old Spc. Michael B. Alleman, Logan, Utah, were members of the 25th Infantry Division based in Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

Nordmeyer is the 110th member of the military with Indiana ties to be killed in the Iraq war.
