Indianapolis EnerDel to develop lithium-ion batteries for proposed hybrids of U.S. Army's Humvee truck
Northeastside Indianapolis-based EnerDel today disclosed a $1.29 million Army contract for the battery work.
The company and the Army’s Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center will collaborate over the next 18 months on developing four custom-built power systems capable of extreme performance simulations.

According to its LinkedIn.com profile, EnerDel Inc. develops lithium-ion battery solutions for automotive manufacturers. The company also provides integrated systems consisting of cells, management controls and mechanical packaging. It also develops and provides battery systems for specialty applications, such as asset tracking, power tools and battery backup systems.
The company was founded in 2004. EnerDel Inc. is a subsidiary of Ener1 Inc. Richard L. Stanley, 52, became president of EnerDel in September.
