Police have arrested a suspect in a week-long string of armed robberies.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Lt. Jeffrey Duhamell said Steven Brown, 28, of Indianapolis, was arrested last night. He was preliminarily charged several counts of robbery and criminal confinement for robberies at two fast foods restaurants and two gas stations between Aug. 23 and Aug. 31.

Police said Brown used a Tech-9 semi-automatic firearm in three of the robberies and a 44 Magnum revolver in another. Police found the Magnum after Brown allegedly threw it from a car window after the last robbery, on Aug. 31, Duhamell said.

Duhamell did not have details of the arrests but said Brown confessed to three of the robberies and denied a fourth. No one was injured in the stick-ups but Brown fled each one with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Brown has history of arrests for firearms violations and faces several counts of unlawful use and firearm for the robberies, Duhamell said.
