Not only are the kids performing Sleeping Beauty this weekend, but the artist’s Studio in Fishers will be bringing the classic story to life as well. If you can’t make it to the downtown area and still want to take in a performance this weekend, I encourage you check out something in Hamilton County instead….

The thought of local theatre groups got me thinking about the days gone by when little areas here and there had dramatic societies that put on theatricals every so often. I guess times have changed of course, but it would be nice to see a resurgence in dramatic clubs that offered a lot of opportunities for everyday people to get on the stage. Oh, don’t get me wrong…I am not knocking what our local groups do…we have wonderful organizations that do a great job and I am always happy to check them out, but the little neighborhood events would be fun to support as well.
