A championship trophy. A banner-raising ceremony. A victory for the home team. All and all, it was a good home opener for the Indiana Ice and the announced crowd of 4,133 at Pepsi Coliseum late Saturday night.

During the first intermission of their 4-1 victory over the U.S. National Under-17 Team, the Ice held a ceremony to unveil their 2008-09 Clark Cup championship trophy and banner, much to the delight of the home fans.

Ice players didn’t waste any time getting the crowd involved, jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first period on goals by Chris Martin , Nic Dowd and Bryon Paulazzo . Anthony Bitetto ‘s goal in the second period gave the Ice a 4-0 advantage. Ryan Haggerty scored Team USA’s lone goal later in the period.
