Hoosiers and driving etiquette
What is it with people in this town that they lose all their social graces (and some of their intelligence) when the weather gets bad?
I got stuck at two different stoplights for extended periods because people on the other streets wouldn’t stop sitting in the intersection.
Did anyone witness any examples of risky or inconsiderate driving today? Feel free to vent!
I had the same problem this morning. The driver of a Scion, just sat in the intersection talking on her cell phone. I know she was probably running late, but so was I.
I gave the horn a tap and got the finger from her too. Nice.

We had the same thing a few weeks back in a non-snow day on 82nd street near I-69. It took us three light cycles to get through the light (when we were only 2-3 cars back, because a buncha ayholes wanted to sit in the intersection and let no one pass rather than waiting their turn.
Bunch of savages in this town.
Can someone explain why they do that? It’s maddening!

A few responses we received from followers on twitter. Thanks twitterers!
kyle_campbell @indycom Social graces, or just their damned minds. Probably both
chrisspangle @indycom NO… They are always bad, but it is more pronounced in this weather. Semis and 4 × 4s drive like a-holes in this weather.
magtastic @indycom I think people lose it at the sight of snow/sleet/rain. It’s not overly difficult to drive in, if you’re not freaking out.
PaulPoteet @indycom I blame the testy drivers on hyper weathercasters. They must be stopped.
hwall1018 @indycom do Indy drivers HAVE social graces when the weather is good?
vestigeofmia @indycom What you mean it can gets worse?!LOL People drive through red lights and are just careless! I have often contemplated becoming a shut in, so I wouldn’t have to risk my life every time I get out in traffic. But to get back on topic, I have seen alot more middle fingers as of late.;)
