LARWILL, Ind. — A car trying to go past another vehicle in a no-passing zone crashed head-on into a sport-utility vehicle on a Northern Indiana highway, killing four people in the car.

The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department says the Plymouth Neon was headed north on Indiana 5 near the community of Larwill when the crash happened Tuesday afternoon.

The car’s male driver and three passengers — a male and two females — all died in the collision with a GMC Yukon SUV.

Authorities did not immediately release the identities of those killed in the crash about 30 miles west of Fort Wayne.

The SUV’s driver was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital with leg injuries.
