Have you seen Dr. Horrible?
It's the Internet sensation that's sweeping the nation!
In case you haven't heard of it, a bunch of TV and Web types got together during the Hollywood strike and put together this wacky web show called "Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog." It features the adventures of a wannabe super-villain, who's trying to defeat his arch-nemesis, the super-hero Captain Hammer, while wooing a girl. And everybody sings.
It was briefly available for free on the Dr. Horrible Web site, but now you have to pay to download it from iTunes if you want to see it -- or so I thought.
A few days ago I discovered that the entire three-part series is available for free on Hulu -- once again raising the question of how in the hell is Hulu legal, and how do they make money?
Anyway, check it out if you haven't already. Hi-larious.

Ha yes!! Absolutely hilarious and a great dosage of NPH, that being Neal Patrick Harris.

For the record, Hulu is legal because the major studios own and run it:

I just heard about it in the last couple of weeks, so I guess it's just now sweeping me.

I was joking about it being legal, of course, but I wonder about its business model -- or, more accurately, the business model of other competing modes of delivery.
Why in the world would anyone pay to download "Dr. Horrible" from iTunes when they can watch it for free? And it looks really, really good on Hulu -- not just some frizzy Web video thing.
It's sort of like the conundrum newspapers having been facing over the past decade: How can we expect people to buy a paper when we're giving it all away for free on our Web site?

Ooh, and thanks to Ben for linking in the actual video. Now you don't even have to go to Hulu to see Dr. Horrible!
By the way, that's Felicia Day as the female lead. She was also the lead in the awesome "The Guild" web series about online role-playing game addicts.
Actually it wasn't me, I imagine it was Chris. However, to explain how he did it, all you have to do is copy and paste the link of the video. That's it. No embed code necessary, just the link. Same goes for YouTube, Veoh and several other video sites as well as Wikipedia and Amazon.
