Harrison College says enrollment is up as Hoosiers find the job market increasingly competitive — but said its growth isn’t as eye-popping as they previously thought.

The college today said enrollment figures released last week were “extrapolated from an incorrect report, and therefore the statistics announced were wrong.”

Enrollment from June 2008 to June 2009 didn’t jump 63 percent overall and 40 percent in three Indianapolis locations, but rose 14 percent overall and 24 percent in Indy.

The fall quarter began Monday at Harrison College, which changed its name from Indiana Business College in Apri. It is a 107-year-old institution that offers over 30 degree programs in five schools of study.

“As a college that prides itself on being transparent and ethical, we want to correct the misinformation we inadvertently distributed,” said Marc Konesco, vice president of enrollment and marketing. “We regret and apologize for the mistake.”
