Hampton picks D-II school

Howe High School senior basketball standout Andre Hampton has committed to Stillman College, a Division II school in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Howe coach Aaron Sembly said.

Hampton, a 6-foot shooting guard, had been receiving interest from Division I schools such as Eastern Illinois, IPFW and North Carolina Central.

Hampton averaged 17.1 points last year for the Hornets and was the team’s top outside shooting threat, connecting on 76 3-pointers.

Teammates Jordan Manuel , a 6-9 senior, and P.J. Boutte , a 5-9 junior, are committed to Detroit.
