Half Pint Jones is a colorful five-piece project of sophisticated funk, jazz, and rock sprinkled with the musical flavors of New Orleans. This dynamic group was birthed during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and is rooted to staying true to all musical and spiritual influences; keeping their music honest and fresh. Based in South Bend, Indiana, these five musicians have come together to express a new, organic, manner of story-telling and musical improvisation, while maintaining a completely relatable sound.

Creating music for Half-Pint Jones is often birthed out of some level of emotion. From tragedies the band has faced, to finding love, to having children, the experiences these five guys have gone through have taught them to chase what they hold dear and to be as honest as possible as musicians.

Their goal is to be the best live band they can be, while also working to achieve incredible studio sound, reaching the masses with their music. This band is road hardened just enough to show the maturity level of the band—their work ethic constantly proves they are putting out the best product they can.

Ladymoon was formed in 2001 when Ryan Brown & Kris Potts, two longtime friends and musical collaborators, met drummer Mark McKowen. That same year the trio finished their first LP, while spending countless hours practicing and playing shows throughout the Midwest. The band was on its way to becoming one of the most creative and influential groups to come out of the Midwest jam band scene. They performed at many venues throughout the region sharing their eclectic sound and crazy on stage performances. Yet as in all great tragedies the members of Ladymoon parted ways in 2003. The band members became involved in other projects (Brown & McKowen formed Austin Bridges, while Potts turned in the bass for a mandolin in Midwest Rhythm Exchange) and expanded their individual musical repertoires. However the desire to play together was too strong and they eventually reunited in 2007. Now Ladymoon is back and better than ever! While they had to say goodbye to long time drummer Mark McKowen due to touring constraints, Ladymoon is proud to welcome the Mallers cousins Nick and George to the band. Nick comes to us from Big Saturday and George was pulled from Indianapolis favorites The Franchize. Nick’s influences and drumming style meld better with the duo of Potts and Brown and George “virtuoso” Mallers fills in the gaps they leave behind on both guitar and keys. They have recently received Runner-Up in Relix Magazines “Jam-Off” and had an editorial piece in the November edition. Their range has expanded with the addition of Nick and George and the energy they create together has led to every venue they’ve played asking them back for a return engagement. Their song selection is enormous with original songs ranging from ska and reggae to progressive rock and jamband dance grooves. Not to mention covers that include a wide array or artists including Talking Heads, Traffic & Deep Purple as well as Phish & The Grateful Dead. They are currently recording their second album and setting up tour dates to support the album this spring and summer. The Mousetrap, 56th and Keystone. 255-3189
