Hair returns to Central Park
Allright, I admit it, I got excited when I heard the news that Hair has returned to Central Park in New York and it is FREE! I saw this on CNN and went bonkers when I caught the piece. Hair is a fantastic musical that doesn't usually get the credit it deserves. Some call it a product of its time, but many people suggest that Hair has a ton of relevance for today's audiences. Personally the tunes are awesome. I love the song "Hair" and maybe its because I have long hair, but I love the line "Oh say, can you see, my eyes, if you can, then my hair's too short!" For all of you theatre fans, check out the YouTube footage of the public performance...it's not quite the park, but it still looks like a pretty cool cast and "Aquarius" sounded great and "Let the sunshine in" certainly seems relevant for today's audiences as well.
