The Carmel girls golfers had a chance to play the course they will play in Friday’s Ben Davis Sectional, and if Wednesday’s results are any indication, the Greyhounds may be in for a big day.

Co-No. 5 Carmel fired a nine-hole school-record at South Grove in a 146-190 win over Brebeuf. The Greyhounds will return to South Grove for the sectional.

“This was a great way for the girls to end the regular season,” Carmel coach Ken Kelly said. “This was a great team performance for the ’Hounds. We entered the match with the intention of getting a practice round in on the sectional course. The girls played relaxed and enjoyed the course setup. They are coming together as a team. We are looking forward to playing the course again Friday.”

Kate McDougal won medalist honors with a personal-best even-par 35. Ari Savich carded a 36, while Diana Poulin added a 37, Briana Midkiff shot 38, Hilary Givens had a 42 and Rebecca Price finished with a 43.
