“Public Enemies,” the Johnny Depp biopic about Indiana gangster John Dillinger, is expected to have a lot of folks looking back at the era of hoods, Tommy guns and fedoras.

One artifact of that era and a prop in the movie — a 1929 Ford Tri-Motor airplane — made an appearance in metro Indianapolis. The very plane that appears in the movie was at Indianapolis Metropolitan Airport in Fishers today.

The nine-passenger antique posed for photos and took aviation buffs for rides.

The Noblesville chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association is one of seven clubs hosting the Ford Tri-Motor Mini-Tour.
