Food fest season is here, so kick it off Saturday at the 19th annual French Market at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4217 Central Ave. While you’ll find lots of craft and artisan booths, the focus here is on the eats. Admission is free, so buy a batch of food tickets and sample everything from escargot and etouffee to tenderloin tips and tarte flamb.

The Sept. 12 festival begins at noon and runs until 10 p.m. with live music, including The Stardusters, Indy Jazz Fest Band and Mojo Gumbo. Beer and wine will be available for purchase in the wine garden.

For additional event information, contact the parish office at (317) 283-5508 or check the parish website at http://www.sjoa.org.
