Free seminar features kitchen and bath remodeling tips
Case Handyman&Remodeling in Carmel will host a free kitchen remodeling seminar Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at its design center located at 108 W. Carmel Drive.
Larry Greene, president and owner of Case, will discuss how to choose a kitchen or bath remodeler, remodeling design ideas and trends, as well as what to expect during a kitchen or bath remodel, how to create a budget and how to live through the process with minimal disruption.
Register by Sept. 21 via e-mail at caseadmin@indy.rr.com or by calling (317) 846-2600. Space is limited, so reservations are first-come, first-served.
Tax credit deadline is Nov. 30
The countdown is on to claim the $8,000 federal tax credit made possible by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Qualified first-time homebuyers must close on a home by Nov. 30.
For anyone who has been thinking about taking advantage of this offer, now is the time to act. Most first-time homebuyers require several weeks to make a home selection, and an inspection or financing delay could derail the schedule. As the deadline draws near, desirable properties will be in high demand, increasing the likelihood of multiple bidders on a single property.
Potential buyers with sketchy credit histories should contact a Realtor to determine if they qualify for a mortgage. Many buyers underrate their creditworthiness because they don’t understand the process.
