Sample springtime favorites at FARMbloomington
There’s still space available for Thursday’s “Spears and ’Shrooms” dinner at FARMbloomington, 108 E. Kirkwood Ave. The 6:30 p.m. event will feature local mushroom experts; the menu will highlight asparagus and mushrooms in a variety of ways, from drinks to dessert.
The menu includes cappuccino of asparagus with sherry and mushrooms; roasted oysters with oyster mushrooms, oyster root and asparagus; bacon-wrapped asparagus with “duxcelles forestiere,” poached duck egg and garlic chive mousseline; poached chicken poitrine with grilled asparagus and shiitake risotto; “hilltop” herb salad with shallot and truffle vinaigrette; and asparagus ice cream, candied asparagus and mushroom meringues.
