Auburn — The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum has canceled its “Trunk or Treat” event because of concerns about the flu and other illnesses.

The event, in which children go from car to car and get treats from museum staff and volunteers, had been scheduled for today, the News-Sentinel of Fort Wayne reports. Organizers hope to resume the Halloween event next year.

The museum noted that a number of children have been absent from local schools recently because of illnesses.
