It will include event space for up to 300 people. She said it would be affordable for families and clubs, but hasn’t yet set prices.
The building will be just north of the Delaware Township Government Center, 9090 E. 131st St., though construction will not begin for several weeks.
The center will cost township taxpayers one cent per $100 of assessed valuation. With standard deductions, that amounts to an $8 increase for a family with a $150,000 home.
“We believe the community has expressed the need to us for a long time,” she said. “Although we live in a fairly affluent county, there are still many of us who cannot afford a country-club reception.”
