So now the 16-year-old is considering Yellow Submarine, Tommy and Pink Floyd's The Wall for the comparison paper. If I recall, The Wall is pretty bleak...but then so are parts of Tommy.

I'm suggesting rock documentaries, like Don't Look Back (Dylan), maybe Gimme Shelter (Stones), and a new one, Amazing Journey (The Who). But then, I just want an excuse to have to buy Amazing Journey.

"I'm Not There" had some great uses of Dylan's music in it. Though it would be going back on my earlier suggestion of using something readily available on DVD, that might be a good resource.

Why not "Meeting People is Easy" featuring Radiohead?

Certainly would give you a different feel than all classic rock.

I'd include something like the Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense, but that's just me. He's in a '60s groove right now.
