Tonight and every first Friday the Hip-Hop Congress host Elements, a tutorial through the Elements of Hip-Hop (Break Dancing, Graffiti, Emcee, and DJ ), geared toward the youth free and open to the general public held at the Martin Luther King Center from 7-9PM. Indianapolis Hip-Hop Artist such as DJ MetroGnome, Ike Boyd of the Philosophy, and others educate youth on the culture of Hip-Hop, by allowing the youth to see and hear the culture of Hip-Hop in motion. The DJ's allow interested youth to actually "scratch"(to work fingers back and forth on a vinyl record to produce a static, or a contrasting sound but in rhythm or to the beat). Emcees and Poets share works and listen to the works of the youth. Break dancers demonstrate moves and teach/ watch the youth mimic. A great family night and children of all ages will enjoy!
