Rain took a delicious break today allowing downtowners to linger over mounds of strawberries, ice cream and topping during the Strawberry Festival on Monument Circle.

About 12,000 pounds of strawberries were to be doled out atop shortcakes today in $6 bowls.

This marks the 44th year for Christ Church Cathedral Women to put on their fundraisers. Last year’s festival raked in $80,000 that benefited a diverse group of charities.

The festival goes on until 6 p.m., or until the dessert is gone.
