Are coffee grounds safe and effective to use in the soil around my hybrid tea roses? Anyone tried this?

According to the Farmers Almanac, some coffee grounds are ok but don’t overdo it because the coffee grounds can make the soil too acidic (not Hacidic). Also, they also recommend banana peels – they ammend the soil with their potassium. The El Borbah commands this!

Why thank you the ElBorbah. Do you put the peels in the coffee grounds (and shake it all up)?

We’ve learned that they’re NOT safe and effective when someone who shall rename nameless tries collecting them from your coffee machine and spills them all over his desk. But it is quite humorous.

I’ve heard roses like them, along with many other plants, but there are some plants that won’t take too them well. Tomatoes, for instance. I don’t like them; they don’t like coffee. There must be a correlation in there somehow.

Good. I’m going to try them on my roses, and I’ll keep you posted.
Maybe you better direct your co-worker to Starbucks to avoid the mess in your office. I understand their grounds are free for the taking … and your co-worker might even bring you a nice cappafrappacino to boot!
