Join us on Friday, June 5th from 5pm to midnight for “Deliberation”
New paintings by Mark Pack and sculpture by Max Stolkin
ARTBOX is the setting for a thoughtful East vs. West showdown.
Mark Pack brings from the East, his conceptual approach to painting.
Various materials apprehended by multiple layers of paint. A fluid
blanket, shielding the inside from exposure, until deliberate excavation
reveals a history. Removed parts are traded and manipulated as painting
flirts with sculpture.
Max Stolkin returns from California with his investigations of the
figure. Form is a primary focus of these sculptures, with a concentration
on process and materials. Allowing the materials to express their own
identity, is a deliberate attempt to capture a pure emotional gesture.
Color, saturation, and surface, further unify his forms with expression.
