1. Circle City Socialites' Coming Out Brawl

6 p.m. Sept. 27, Ellenberger Ice Rink, 5301 E. St. Clair St., $7/advance and $10/door, www.circlecitysocialites.com

Indy's newest belles of the brawl will lace up for their first exhibition match. The team, which includes several Naptown Roller Girls defectors, formed with the idea of becoming a "smaller scale team," open to women of all skill levels. But just because they might be kinder to recruits doesn't mean they're any gentler on the rink.

2. Colossal Costume Sale

Noon to 7 p.m. Sept. 25, free admission, Indiana Repertory Theatre, 140 W. Washington St., (317) 635-5277.

Looking for an offbeat Halloween costume? The IRT is selling off dozens of garments, hats, shoes and wigs to make room for new costumes. The oldest available costume is Nana the dog, from a 1986 production of "Peter Pan." Some of the latest costumes are from a "Huck Finn" production two years ago. Prices are expected to range from $3 to $50. You'd pay at least that for a mass-produced flapper costume at some transient Halloween shop.

3. 'Class Pictures: Photographs by Dawoud Bey' talk and opening party

6:30 p.m. Sept. 25, free artist's lecture followed by opening party ($10 public; $5 students), Indianapolis Museum of Art, 4000 Michigan Road, www.imamuseum.org

One of the most celebrated photography projects in recent years comes to the Indianapolis Museum of Art. "Class Pictures," by Chicago artist Dawoud Bey, pairs large-scale portraits of 40 teenagers with short essays written by each teen. At the exhibition's opening, learn Bey's secret to capturing the inner soul of that mysterious of creatures, the American adolescent, by using only a camera. "Class Pictures" runs through Nov. 23.

4. Art vs. Art

8 p.m. Sept. 26, $12/advance or $15/door, the Vogue, 6259 N. College Ave., (317) 627-0068.

Who will get the dreaded Wheel of Death and who will move on to the title belt and $3,000 prize in this year's Art vs. Art event? The painting competition, presented by Primary Colours, leaves it up to the audience to decide the fate. Ah, such power. Thirty-two artists participate in side-by-side face-offs on paintings created that day. The ruinous Wheel of Death fate can be averted only if someone purchases the painting.
